HOW WE CAN HELP
18U has been working with young survivors for over 30 years. Our charity was started by survivors and many of our workers and volunteers have experienced various forms of abuse and know how important it is to provide the best possible service to young people and children.
Our support is free of charge (we can even pay for your travel in most circumstances) and is highly confidential.

What we mean when we talk about 'support'
Support varies depending upon the needs of the person using our service. Sometimes it can be about offering a young person information about their rights or about other services. At other times support can be about just being there for someone. Support is listening to and believing people and it is never judgemental or unkind.
There is no limit on the length of time that a young survivor can use the services of 18u and even when the young person turns 18 years old, they can continue to use the services until they feel ready to stop. The young person remains in control of their use of the services, and they decide what to talk about and how often they use the service.
If you are thinking about accessing support, please feel free to contact us with any questions you might have and we will do our best to answer them.
